Cambridge Higher Secondary is typically for learners aged 14 to 16 years. It builds on the foundations of Cambridge Lower Secondary. The students are offered the choice of subjects based on their interests, passion, and future career choices. Students are expected to choose a minimum of 5 Cambridge IGCSE courses besides mandatory study areas by the Ministry of Education, UAE.
The Cambridge IGCSE subjects currently available at Providence English Private School include:-
1- English (Mandatory)
2- Mathematics (Mandatory)
3- ICT
4- Business
5- Physics (Mandatory)
6- Chemistry
7- Biology
8- Economics
Students are supposed to choose a minimum of 2 other courses from the above list besides the 3 mandatory courses listed above.
Besides these students will also study subjects mandated by the Ministry of Education, UAE which includes:
9- Islamic Studies (Mandatory for Muslims)
10- Arabic (Mandatory for Arab Nationals)
11- Moral Education (Year 10)
12- Social Studies
Students sit for Cambridge IGCSE exams at the end of year 11.
